1.      What is Apex Sportstainment, LLC?

Apex Sportstainment, LLC is a company that owns and operates four professional basketball teams in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA).  As of this writing, Apex is scheduled to operate three of the four teams in the 2006-07 CBA season: Minot Skyrockets, Butte Daredevils, and the Great Falls Explorers.  Apex also arranges and/or procures entertainment during, before, and/or after basketball games.  Apex also has a merchandising arm where it helps purchase wholesale merchandising items for the entire CBA league at a discount.

2.      Who owns Apex Sportstainment, LLC?

Apex is owned primarily by the Hasegawa family.  Kazumi Hasegawa is the President, while her brother James Hasegawa is the Executive Vice President.  Joe Clark is the CEO and Managing Partner of Apex, and also owns an interest in Apex.  These three individuals are the operating faces of the company, while other members of the Hasegawa family are not involved in the daily operations of the company.

3.      Who handles the daily operations of Apex?

Joe Clark, CEO and Managing Partner, is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company.  As General Manager of all four CBA basketball franchises, he interfaces with the Assistant General Managers at each franchise.  On the CBA league level, he is a member of the Executive Committee of the CBA, and oversees marketing and league expansion.  His past experience has been with start-ups and turn-around companies in telecommunications and high-tech companies.

Kazumi Hasegawa, President, is an attorney specializing in corporate and licensing, particularly in digital entertainment (video game industry).  She handles all legal issues, contracts and agreements as our in-house counsel.  In addition, she is responsible for the merchandising arm of Apex, and researches, negotiates, and coordinates purchases, inventory, and sales of merchandise from wholesalers to retail, including the entire CBA league.

     James Y. Hasegawa, Executive Vice President, is responsible for marketing, finance, information technology, and public/media relations for all four franchises.  As a California licensed acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist with board certification in physical medicine/orthopedics, he also interfaces with the medical team for each franchise.
